VANDALIA, Ohio—Amid the whipping wind that wreaked havoc on the teleprompters in front of him, former President Donald Trump praised businessman Bernie Moreno as a “hero” and a “winner” at a rally on March 16 days before the Republican U.S. Senate primary.
On March 19, the Trump-backed Moreno will vie for the GOP nomination against Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan will vie for their party’s nomination.
The winner will face longtime Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) in the general election.
Mr. Brown, 71, is unopposed in the Democrat primary. He was first elected to the Senate in 2007 and has kept his seat in a deep red state….
