Former President Donald Trump promised to “never allow” the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC), also known as a digital dollar.
During a campaign stop in New Hampshire and joined on stage by former GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, President Trump vowed never to give the U.S. government “absolute control over your money,” calling it a “dangerous threat to freedom.”
“As your president, I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency. Such a currency would give the federal government absolute control of your money,” President Trump told a raucous crowd. “This would be a dangerous threat to freedom—and I will stop it from coming to America.”…
