Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) is spearheading a resolution with a group of GOP lawmakers to award former President Donald Trump a Congressional Gold Medal.
Ms. Luna introduced the resolution, named the “President Donald J. Trump Congressional Gold Medal Act,” on May 14. It calls for awarding the 45th president a gold medal for “his exceptional leadership and dedication to strengthening America’s diplomatic relations during his presidency” as he attends court proceedings in New York regarding his ongoing criminal case about alleged hush money payments.
Ms. Luna leads a group of GOP representatives in calling for the award: Republican Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.) and Reps. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.), Mary Miller (R-Ill.), Bob Good (R-Va.), Randy Weber (R-Texas), Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.)….
