A Proud Boy from Kansas who, on Jan. 6, prevented the arrest of a fellow demonstrator and wielded a wooden axe handle to threaten police officers shooting pepper balls at protesters has been sentenced to over 4 years behind bars.
William Chrestman, a 51-year-old member of the Proud Boys from Olathe, Kansas, was on Friday sentenced to 55 months in prison for his involvement in the Capitol breach on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Mr. Chrestman in October pleaded guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding and threatening a federal officer, both felonies.
The sentencing, conducted by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy J. Kelly on Jan. 12, comes about a week after the third anniversary of the Capitol breach and as the Biden administration has vowed to hunt down “all” Jan. 6 suspects—including ones who weren’t even there that day….
