CHICAGO—Law enforcement declared a protest near the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to be unlawful as pro-Palestinian protests grew violent on Tuesday evening.
Around 8:30 p.m. ET, a crowd of protesters pushed through a thin line of reporters to a police line. The crowd was quickly pushed back and the Chicago Police Department established a security perimeter.
At least four protestors were arrested, with dozens involved in the initial clash.
Chants of “Intifada,” an Arabic word for rebellion or uprising, were heard among the crowd.
Concerns escalated as skirmishes between police and pro-Palestinian protestors continued. Some violence broke out also between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian protestors….
