In a fairly stunning admission, the Israeli military’s chief spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, told an Israeli television station Wednesday that, “whoever thinks we can eliminate Hamas is wrong.” The IDF later issued a statement saying Hagari’s comments were referring to the destruction of Hamas as an ideology.
