Vice President Kamala Harris created significant separation from former President Donald Trump in the fundraising portion of the 2024 presidential race in August, according to new federal filings.

According to the incomplete financial picture presented by the monthly filings, Harris started September with access to about $319.7 million in cash. By comparison, Trump could tap into about $198.8 million at that time.
Both major candidates could potentially access more money, but their allied committees, which file quarterly, are not required to disclose their activities until Oct. 15….
