Rep. Jared Golden voted on Jan. 17 for H. Res. 957 condemning President Joe Biden’s immigration chaos and calling on him to “end his open-border policies,” but the Maine Democrat will vote against impeaching the official administering those policies, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
In a statement released the day before the Jan. 30 House Committee on Homeland Security (HCHS) passage of two Articles of Impeachment against Mr. Mayorkas, Mr. Golden called the panel’s action “a pointless, unfounded impeachment inquiry” and encouraged Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other House Republicans to instead be “working on a bipartisan border deal.”…
